Maglite Care and Maitenance
This instructable will show some simple ways to keep your maglites alive and functioning properly for longer. I typicaly do this type of maitenance once a year. Sorry about the date on the pictures couldnt find an option to turn it off and forgot to update it.
Gather Some Supplies
First you need these three things
-Maglites
-Paper towels or rags
- Jack's Formula 327 Multilube or other multipurpose silicone lubricant (NOT Petroleum based lubricant because it may damage the rubber "O-Rings")

Disasemble
Remove the top of the flashlight incliding the lens and focusing cone also remove the battery cap. Smaller flashlights without the button on/off switch will be on untill you remove the battery cap.
Locate "O"-Rings
Now find the "O"-Rings and wipe them clean of any old dirt and grease. Make shure to get the threads inside the flashlight also.
Re-Lubricate the Threads and "O"-Rings
Now take some lubricant and spread it on the threads and "O"-Rings.
Close It Up
Close it all up and clean away the extra lube.
All Done
Now you have finished a simple tune up of your maglites possibly adding years of life or atleast making them smother and easier to use. When you are closing all of the peices together they should go in smoth and if not add some extra lube then try again. Now all of your maglites should focus smothly and be better water sealed.
