It's a winter night and your power has just gone out. Now you need a fire to keep your family warm but you are out of matches and your lighter died. So you think, WWMD (What Would MacGyver Do). MAKE HIS OWN LIGHTER!!!!!

Caution- this project does involve fire so be careful as burns can result. I am not liable for any injuries.

First, you will want to crumple up paper and make balls that will burn. Next, put a flat piece of paper on top of the balls, this will be the piece to light because it overhangs.

Cut the gum wrapper down to about a quarter of the size and then fold it in half. Then you will be cutting the wrapper again at a 45 degree angle. The smaller you can make the middle, the better. The last thing you will want to do is touch the foil part of the wrapper to the negative side of the battery.

I'm Sorry the Picture isn't great, but you will want to get the middle of the wrapper under the paper and then touch the other end of the gum wrapper to the positive side of the battery. Caution-The wrapper will burn up quickly so get your hands out as soon as the paper is lit. Add more and more kindling to the small fire to build it up. I have entered this in three contests so if you feel they are worthy, please vote and comment. Any suggestions would be greatly encouraged.
