Mac and Cheese - 2 Ways
500 grams Macaroni
1.5 litre water for boiling
1 tbsp Salt for the water
2-3 tbsp Olive Oil for the water
100 grams Butter
2-3 tbsp Plain Flour
350 grams mixed Shredded Cheese (Cheddar and Red Leichester)
200 ml Thickened Cream
300 ml Milk
1 tbsp Salt
1 tsp Black Pepper
a few shakes of ground Nutmeg Powder
BAKED (4 portions)
1 slice of Ham diced
grated Parmesan Cheese
Panko Breadcrumbs
CROQUETTE
pinch of Salt and Pepper
2 tbsp Plain flour (for 3-4 pieces)
1 Egg
1.5 cup Breadcrumbs
0.5 litre Cooking Oil
Cooking time: 15 mins (mac and cheese) + 15 mins (baked) OR 1 hr 10 mins (croquette)
