Hello!

This intractable will show you how to build and MP3 from scratch.

Let’s get started!

Supplies

To replicate the project you will need:

Electronic parts

PCB

Arduino Nano

MP3 DFplayer mini

5 buttons

Cables

Jack connector

Materials

PMMA 2 mm thick

Silicon gun

8 mm diameter drill

14 mm diameter drill

Tools

Screwdriver

Electric drill

Electric saw

Software

Arduino

The diagram explains the code's flow.

Electronic Connections Scheme

This scheme shows you how to connect the components to the Arduino. We have welded it to a welding plate in order to reduce the volume of the electronic components.

The Code

In this step we include the code zipped. Each step comes with an explanation.

Construction Guide

We will now give you the instructions to build the structure that will embed all the electronic components. The hardware it is made out of white PMMA.

We start cutting different MP3 faces out of the PMMA sheet. We use an electrical saw and an electrical drill. The PDF attached contains the blueprints.

Once we have all the pieces cut, we glue all of them together with a silicon glue, except the front part that we need it to attach the electronic parts. When the electronics are fixed in the front part we glue everything together.

Conclusion

When you are finished with the construction of the Mp3’s hardware you will have reached the end of this DIY! Unfortunately we have not be able to completely replicate the MP3 performance, we would have liked to be able to show the name of the song currently playing in the liquid screen. Also, the MP3 itself is too big and not easy to transport as it can not be stored in a pocket.

Any improvement suggestions for the hardware and software design are welcome!

We hope you enjoyed the project!
