I know that you might be thinking that the hexbug spider is already a great toy ,but in this instructable you can learn to modify that great toy into more useful and playful toy than it was before.

For example :- you can make different kinds of attachments to it, make it do some cleaning around your play area with it or even clean water spills and even you can use it to bring small things to you with it .

Measure the foam and mark it up to 1 inch . After that draw a square and cut it out.

Now take one stick and measure 5 inches on it and cut it . After that insert it in the middle of the foam cube.

MAKING THE ATTACHMENTS

Now make a rectangle . length = 5 inches , breadth = 2 inches and cut it out.

Mark the rectangle as shown in picture number 3 like a trapezium and cut it out.As shown in picture number 4.

Now take another stick and mark 4 inches on it . After that cut it and glue it in the middle of the attachment.

MAKING THE HOLDER OF THE ATTACHMENT

Now dismantle the pen and mark 1 inch on its body as shown in picture 1. After that cut out the marked area and with the help of the cutter cut off a strip making a space .As shown in the picture number 3.

Now when you are done cutting the body of the pen glue that piece to the headgear which is already glued on to the hexbug spider.

Warning :- don't glue the piece where you had made the cut in between of the pen body . glue the area where there is no cut like shown in picture number 4.

THE CLIPPER ATTACHMENT

Now take a piece of foam and insert it on the stick as shown in picture 1 to 3.

Now tape the foam tightly to the stick. And you are done. All you have to do is attach the stick to the clipper which is attached to the hexbug spider.
