First Thing Is the Crust.

Go ahead and preheat oven to 350 degrees. Take your chocolate sandwich cookies & crush them. I used a food processor but any method would be fine as long as the end result is crushed cookies. Next melt 1/3 cup butter. Add to the crushed cookies & mix. Pour mixture into pie dish and press evenly on the bottom and up the edges. Now bake 5 to 7 mins. and chill.

Let's Work on the Filling.

Heat 1 cup heavy whipping cream & 1/2 tsp. salt to a low simmer. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. Only 15 seconds at a time and stir to prevent burning. Once melted add to the cream and stir until all is mixed together and smooth. Remove from heat and let cool.

Whip That Cream!

In a mixing bowl add 2 cups heavy whipping cream, vanilla & 1/3 cup sugar. Mix until peaks form. Now gently fold whipped cream into cooled chocolate a bit at a time until all is blended and smooth. At this point you can call for a "taste tester". I didn't have much of a choice on that one. It was going to get tested!!  Next pour that mixture into your crust that you made earlier & chill for at least 4 hrs.

Deja Vu... Whip That Cream Again.

Now you can repeat the last step for whipping cream or just buy some whipped topping. Which ever you prefer will be fine!! Spread the whipped cream over your pie. Now take a vegetable peeler and shave down a chocolate bar and use the sprinkles to garnish the top of your pie (pi).

This is my take on a Death By Chocolate. I really hope everyone enjoys this!! I know my family did!!
