The wife won't let you put your latest creation on the coffee table...because it looks like something the cat drug in ??? This will fix that. Mix and match lcd cases. One or two lcd fronts with option for 10-12-0 keypads. Room for a 9v battery. Pdf layout for a standard hole punch for an overlay. Room for lcd with I2C interface board. With snap on...snap off backs! WOW ... Just need a 3d printer and your creation. (You know many libraries have 3d printers to use.)

These come in three flavors. One lcd or two lcd. and a 2 lcd box (no keypad). Keypad has 10 or 12 buttons or is blank and slides into the lcd screen. All have a snap-on back. Lots of room for a 9v battery and pro-mini

3mf Files

I tried to get into the free CAD files to build a simple box. I spent hours just to make a box that would not print. Windows 10 has '3d builder' for free. If not on your computer you can go to microsoft for the download. This is so easy to use. In just a few hours you get the hang of making basic shapes. Learn how to use the size and position screen section. Just a few problems... TOO complicated build it crashes. Saving files to other formats sometimes crashes. I work with 3mf default files. Keep the build in separate sections for later changes so do not merge. I have a master build and open with the final name. Then erase stuff not needed. Then save to a stl file. ALWAYS work with the 3mf file as other formats will crash.

WITH or WITHOUT BUTTONS

Any of the button arrays will fit any of the lcd screen fronts. The buttons fit inside the case using a

standard 5cm x 7cm paperboard. It looks like the holes in the pc are square but they are NOT. As well as the switches. So you must orientate the board long way (7cm) and trim to fit. The switch legs are left and right on the 7cm. with 2 skipped holes between the top and bottom row.. The outer edge of the case allows the pc to line up so very small screws will hold the pc. The trimmed end will need you to make holes in the pc.

Enclosed is a pdf layout for an overlay. Use a standard hole punch for the button holes. Print or draw names for the buttons on this overlay.

GLUE in the LCD

To get the lcd to stand out beyond the case this limits the mounting holes. Use E600/GOOP instead of small screws. About the same thing with the buttons.

Stl Files

Here are the stl files. They print very well at this scale. The backs snap on. They may need a touch up trim to fit well. The screen front has holes to mount the lcd but they are not very deep. This is because the lcd stands out beyond the front of the case. I use glue instead of screws. I also use a BLACK paint to kill the white led around the edges of the lcd. This WILL shine through the case.

The projects in the photos are:

frequency counter, gps outdoor clock, gps monitor clock + temperature, robot arm,

stand alone lcd clock with date no RTC
