My initial plan about the lamp is to create a hollow sphere lamp with flower-like curves carved on the surface. After several attempts, I failed to apply the design pattern on the sphere in the grasshopper. Then I came across this Youtube tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVJnoDm39Fg uploaded by Samer Naim and I figured out a new way to apply the digital pattern on the geometry surface. So I changed the shape of the lamp into a star shape and smooth the sharp corners. When I completed the lamp and opened it in Cura, the system warned that the lamp may fail because there are layers on the top but without support structure underneath. Therefore I split the lamp into body and top.

The printing started and it went quite smooth. The total printing took about 12+hours but the outcome was great. However, I don't have a lamp at home so I have to order a bulb online which is not arrived yet. So I used the flash light on the phone to create the light effect. I very much like the shadow and light that leak though the holes and are displayed on the wall;)
