My inspiration for MA-D1 (Medical Analysis Droid, 1st generation) was BB-8 and R2-D2 for their simple designs that exude so much character at the same time. I added a more anthropomorphic style while still retaining the basic principles of the Star Wars droids.
MA-D1 is a valuable asset in any medical setting, giving proper analysis and reporting directly to the 2-1B units that oversee treatment of patients. They are also the go-to data messengers with their mobility and compact design.
