It's always a challenge to combine very different materials to create an original and unique piece.

So I mixed the Leather with Soutache strings to make this Jewelry Set, called Phoenix. Like this mythical bird-like creature whose uniqueness lies in the fact that it is reborn from its ashes.

In this Instructables, I explain you how to do this Luxury Leather Jewelry Set with Swarovski crystals and Agate stone.
Leather brings an absolutely original effect and contrasts with the softness and flamboyance of the jewel.

I like to work with leather in my jewelry. However, as I used to use it for men's jewelry. This is the first time that I have used it for a woman's jewelry.

Draw a sketch of your jewelry in order to collect all the necessary materials.
Prepare the soutache strings and arrange in the correct order.

Realize the Central Part

IMG_20210403_142256.jpg

Sew the 4 soutache stings together using the nylon thread and the needle. Give them the rounded shape to perfectly match the square shape of Agate stone.
Pass at least 2 times through the square bead with the needle to secure it to the soutache strings. Then unify them when the trick is done.

The Finish Behind

IMG_20210403_144449.jpg

When the 2 parts are unified, insert a small bead on each side creating a nice finish at the back. Properly unify the 2 rear sides by depositing a small drop of glue on the area to be cut. Then join the 2 sides of soutache strings by sewing them.

Add Ranks

Add 2 soutache stings to half of the square bead. Then add 1 medium pearl on each side. Put a drop of glue on the flap at the back, then cut. Join the 2 sides by sewing them.

Insert a Swarovski Crystal

Take the 3 soutache threads (red, orange, yellow) and round them to sew them together.
Stop halfway through the crystal.

Reproduce Symmetry

IMG_20210403_153004.jpg

Do the same at the thing then join the soutache strings on one side and the other of the crystal.

Sew a Series of Small Seed Beads

Sew the small seed beads on one side then the other. Join them in the middle and unify the soutache strings.
Place a thin layer of multi-purpose glue behind the crystal to secure it.

At the bottom, insert a medium bead on each side.

Rear Finish

Add a Row

Embed a Swarovski Crystal

Sew 3 round stump strings around the crystal. Hold the crystal firmly between your fingers, then unify the 2 sides of the soutache strings. Place a drop of multi-purpose glue behind to secure the crystal.

Insert a small bead on each side. Then sew the 2 sides symmetrically on the back of the crystal.

Cover the Back of the Crystal

IMG_20210406_152636.jpg

Cut a small piece of felt the same size as the exposed part of the Swarovski crystal. Glue it with a drop of multi-use glue.
Leave the top part slightly detached in order to insert a ring.

Join the 2 Pieces

IMG_20210406_153048.jpg

Join the 2 pieces by uniting them with 2 medium round beads.

Insert Leather Laces

Cut 2 leather laces of different length. Glue the ends of each of the 2 pieces and hold them with pliers for a few minutes. When the glue is dry, sew the 2 leather loops together using a needle and brown poliester thread. Make several turns because the leather is very difficult to tighten and unite.

Place a drop of glue on the back of the pendant to secure the leather.

Attach a Ring

IMG_20210407_140711.jpg

Sew a sterling loop jump ring behind the detached piece of felt, then apply a drop of glue to secure it.
Apply a little pressure with a small forceps for a few minutes.
When the glue is dry, remove the pliers and pass a double loop ring jump through the first.

Leather Choker

Cut 52 cm of leather lace. Then put on a double loop ring jump on one side then fold the tip of the leather lace and secure with a drop of glue. Secure with small pliers for a few minutes.

Thread on the other side of the leather lace, a double loop ring jump with a snap hook. Then fold in the same way, glue and pinch.
When the glue is dry, remove the 2 small pliers. Wind the folded part of the leather lace with the brown polyester thread. Create a nice finish.

Leather for Earrings

IMG_20210407_154028.jpg
IMG_20210407_152438.jpg

Wind the leather lace. 5 rounds for each earrings, then secure them.
Be careful, even if the leather is supple, it is difficult to hold together. This is why I first put a drop of glue there and then I fixed them with a temporary woolen thread to wander them together for at least 1 hour. Keep them fixed like this with a small clamp.

Incorporate the Soutache

IMG_20210408_154120.jpg

Create a rounded shape around the faceted crystal bead then sew the bead in the center.

Make 2 flaps with a medium orange bead. Add a row of 2 strings of red soutache. Sew a round bead to the tip. Repeat this operation a second time to obtain the 2 earrings.

Sew the Leather

When the glue has dried behind the leather, sew each row of the lace together using a needle and brown polyester thread.
Place a drop of glue on the less attractive side of the leather and glue the jewel in soutache. Pinch the whole thing for about 1 hour.

Attach the Ear Hooks

IMG_20210408_160010.jpg

Remove the small pliers and thread your needle through all the soutache strings above the crystal bead.

Sew the ear hook, then sew a small seed bead on each side to embellish the hook.
The earrings are finally finished.
