Lunch Is My TWEET
For my fine feathered friends, I made a quick and easy bird feeder for my yard. We have a lot of little birds that come around and thought I'd 'Tweet them to lunch'.
Supplies
MATERIALS:
- Small cup and saucer, small spoon is optional (I got mine at thrift store)
- Twine or string
- Glue sticks
- Beads, (optional)
- Scissors
- Glue gun
- Key ring or hook to hang from
- Birdseed
The pic shows a tub of airdry clay and paint and that's if you want to make your own beads to add to hanger strings. I rolled and painted 4 beads and added to strings, this is totally optional, you can use any beads you choose.
Placing the Cup and Spoon
First, position the cup and spoon if using a spoon, on saucer and hot glue in place. Glue the cup at an angle as if it got tipped over. I chose to use a small spoon for 2 reasons, one was to kind of give my cup something to rest against and help keep it at an angle. The other was the handle becomes small perch.
The Hanger
Next, cut 4 even lengths of your twine or string. The lengths should be long enough to go under saucer supporting it and then however long you want it to hang. About 2 inches or so from an end, holding all four ends together, make a knot in the string.
Almost Done
Now kind of fan the strings out, grab the bottom of the knot, apply glue in center and stick it to center bottom side of saucer. Stretch the strings across bottom of saucer, forming an 'X' and glueing them down all the way to edge of saucer. Now bring all the strings together above the cup and saucer, (optional you can add a bead or two on each string before tying.) Put the string ends through keyring, adjusting as needed to keep saucer level, then tie a knot at that end and it is ready to hang in the garden or patio.

Add Birdseed and enjoy watching the birds dine!
