Lord of the Rings Hot Glue Nameplate

Hi, this is a cool simple name plate or a door plaque in the Lord of the Rings style using hot glue.

first, gather these supplies

• quarter inch wood ( I used a piece 6 1/4 by 5 1/2.)
• hot glue gun
• lots and lots of replacement glue sticks
• first color spray paint
• second color spray paint

draw your pattern onto the wood but leave some space around the edges. I used this English to Elvish translator to make the inscription:

add some decorations around the edges. I made some cute little swirls around the edges. (sorry no pics.)

take one of your paint colors and thoroughly coat the board. I did two coats of paint and that seemed enough.

take your other paint color and put one thin coat of paint on. just enough to cover the first coat. this will create a two toned plaque.

take a sheet of high grit (I used 320) sandpaper and lightly sand the name plate to expose the under color.

I only used two tones of gray so the sanding didn't show up very much. It would be super cool if the under coat was gold and showed up more.
