Do you have leftover Oreos and M&Ms? Do you have a spare 10 minutes? If you answered yes to both of these questions, then this is the recipe for you! This is a simple, easy recipe for loaded cookie bars.

For this recipe you will need:

1/2 Cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 cup light brown sugar, packed

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 cup all purpose flour

18 Oreo cookies, coarsely chopped

1/2 cup M&Ms

Non-stick baking spray, aluminum foil, 8x8 baking dish

-You can add ingredients such as marshmallows or other candies to this recipe if you'd like.

Melt the butter in microwave safe bowl.

-This will take about one minute depending on the strength of the microwave.

Add the egg, brown sugar, and vanilla and whisk until smooth.

-Make sure the butter has cooled down before adding the egg so it doesn't get scrambled.

Add the flour and stir until just combined.

-Do not overmix the batter as this will cause it to become dense.

Spray the baking dish with the baking spray, and pour the batter into the dish.

-Use a spatula to evenly spread the mixture in the dish.

Sprinkle the M&Ms on top of the cookie mixture.

-Use your fingers or the spatula to slightly press the M&Ms into the dough.

Bake for 20-22 minutes.

-This time may vary slightly depending on if other ingredients were added to the mixture. The top should be set and the edges should be firm. A toothpick can be inserted into the center of the bars, and if it comes out clean, they are done!
