Little K'nex Airplane

It's been a while since I've posted something that's relatively simple. This has no model on which it was based. Just threw this together and called it a plane. This is super easy, super simple, and shouldn't take too long. Enjoy!

Supplies

This takes very few pieces. But those flexible rods are a little less common.

Rods:

  • Green: 64
  • White: 21
  • Blue: 3
  • Yellow: 6
  • Orange Flexi: 4

Connectors:

  • Purple (or gray): 3
  • Light Gray (2-way): 4
  • Orange: 2
  • Red: 12
  • Green: 4
  • Yellow: 6
  • White: 2
  • Blue slider: 8
  • Gray Slider: 24

Misc.:

  • Blue spacer: 3
  • Silver Spacer: 3
  • Y-Clip: 2
  • Black Cap: 2
  • Silver clip: 1
  • Small black wheel: 6

As with most models, the black caps and silver clips can be replaced with one another.

Body

It's got a simple, little body. You'll add the nose and rest of the tail later.

Tail

Assemble the tail as shown, and add it to the rear of the body with the blue rod, separated as shown. The red connector on the white rod is to hold the tail mostly straight with the plane.

Nose

The hardest part you'll face with this plane, the nose has only two points of connection with the ret of the plane. Still, it isn't too fragile. Simply follow along with the instructions and add it to the plane at the front when done.

Wings

Build the wings as shown. Then add the propeller. You can change the propeller to your specific desires, but I liked this one for some reason. Then snap three yellow rods onto the top of the connectors that the propeller is added, and space them so little distance remains between the end of each rod and the propeller. Finally, add the wings to the fuselage.

Wheels

Take a black wheel, connect it to a green rod, and slide it through a purple (or gray) one-way connector with a green rod connected to it. Then close off the other side of the axle with another wheel. Make three of these. Once these are made, flip the plane over and add one to the underside of each wing on the connector between the body and the engine. Add the last one to the nose on the red connector at the front.

Now you have finished the little plane. It's small, simple, and easy, but it's satisfying. I think so anyway. I hope you enjoyed!
