Linked Crochet Scarf With Pom Pom Edging
The Linked Double Crochet stitch is a lovely stitch that adds bulk and volume to the finished project. This stitch is usually made by inserting your hook into the middle of the post. This little trick works magic and you end up with a seamless solid project. You very well don't get the gaps you get with the standard Double Crochet stitches. Its a customizable stitch pattern which can be altered to your liking by changing the starting number of stitches.
Today am sharing the pattern for Linked Crochet Scarf With Pom Pom Edging. I made this pattern as a part of the 2024 Christmas in July Make Along with Marie at Underground Crafter. This is a easy and simple scarf pattern with Pom Pom edging. The Pom Pom edging adds a lovely outcome.

1 Linked Double Crochet in each stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain to make the turning chain.
How to make the Linked Double Crochet.....?? :-
- Insert hook into the 2nd chain from hook, Yarn Over and pull up a loop (2 loops on the hook).
- Insert hook into the 3rd chain from hook, Yarn Over and pull up a loop (3 loops on the hook).
- Yarn Over and pull through 2 loops(2 loops on the hook)
- Yarn Over and pull through the last 2 loops(similar as for a regular Double Crochet)
- That's 1st Stitch made.
Next Linked Double Crochet:-
- **Insert your hook into the Leg or the Bar (i.e the stitch that goes across the middle), Yarn Over and pull up a loop(2 loops on hook).
- Insert your hook into the next stitch, Yarn Over and pull up a loop(3 loops on hook).
- Yarn Over and pull through 2 loops(2 loops on the hook)
- Yarn Over and pull through the last 2 loops(similar as for a regular Double Crochet)**
- That's 1 Stitch complete.
Repeat from ** to ** to keep making the next stitches.
Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
- Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
- Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
- Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
- Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
- This will make one Double Crochet.
Round 3:-
1 Linked Double Crochet in each stitch.( refer Round 2 for the Stitch Tutorial)
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain to make the turning chain.
Round 4 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 3 untill the size needed.

Chain 10.
1 Double Crochet Cluster in the 3rd Chain from the hook.

Chain 6.
Slip Stitch into the same stitch.
1 Single Crochet each into the next 3 Stitches.
Repeat (Ch10,1DC Cluster,SL,Ch6,SL,1SC*3) and weave off.**
Repeat from ** to ** to make on the other side as well.
Weave off the yarn ends.
How to Make a Double Crochet Cluster Stitch.... ???:-
- Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on the hook.(This is same as doing a Double Crochet Stitch. It is just that , you don't finish the Double Crochet Stitch and continue doing the first part of the Double Crochet Stitch again and again). You should have 2 loops on the hook.
- Yarn over, insert the hook in the same stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You should have 3 loops on the hook.
- Continue with the first part of Double Crochet stitch untill you have 6 loops on the hook.
- Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 6 loops on the hook.
- Chain 1.
