Welcome Back!

In this instructable I will show you a gift idea you can make yourself. for under 10 $/bottle "(if you have access to a laser cutter)
If you want to make the box you can either make it on a laser cutter like I did, or you can make one with a jigsaw, or you could buy one. But that's no fun!

Let's get to it!

Making the Limoncello

First! You need bottles and bigger bottle to "brew" the limoncello in.

I found my bottles here:
https://www.flaschenland.de/

But i guess you can find them on ebay as well. I had a 2 liters glass jar with airtight lid. therefor I could make approximately 10 bottles of 200ml in each.

I could start writing all the steps/recipe for the limoncello, but! I just followed this page which is awesome!

Here you can also calculate your end alcohol percentage.

Designing the Box

Sadly the illustrator files that I used to make this in, is broken (don't know why).

But this only means you can make one just like you want it!
In the pictures you can see how I designed the notches to ensure a snug and accurate fit when put together.
I also measured the bottles diameter to make sure the wooden pieces in the middle would fit the bottle.

Laser Cutting

I borrowed a laser cutter for this but if you have one yourself, I envy you...

Assembling

I then put it all together with wood glue.

The "hinges" was made out of an old leather belt I bought in a thrift shop.
Then nailed to the wood.

Adding Details

It's all in the details!

The fluffy wood inside the box was bought at the local florist. Just go and ask for it, they get it super cheap and you can get a lot for a small price.

I made a little note to lay beneath the bottle it says "You are now the proud owner of the first production of limoncello. Made by ---my name---"

I lived in odense at the moment and that's the reason for the little duck. (H.C. Andersen "The ugly duckling")

Done

It's Done!

I made some labels for the bottles and glued them on with spray glue. These you can just print out on paper and glue it right on!

I hope you like it! And if you did don't forget to give it a vote!
If you have any questions regarding the recipe or the making of the box, don't hesitate to ask!

See you next time!
