Light saber (star-wars)

On this instructable you will learn how to make a light saber in less than 5 minutes.

This project is very simple and easy it is great for kids and it is also great for doing it in a short period of time.

Materials

The materials:

*(Duck tape)We are going to need some duck tape, scotch can also work. This will work as the handlebar and we use it to make it faster.

*(Acrylic tube)The most important part is going to be the acrylic tube/stick since it is the part that will glow like a sword. Use any size you want.

*(LED)You will need some LEDs any color you want, the LEDs are for the acrylic to glow.

*(Batteries)The batteries are going to be used to power the LEDs, preferably use button cell batteries since they work well with LEDs. Use 2 to 4 batteries.

*(Push button)The push button is not included it is an extra the project can be done without it.

Assembling

First start by taking your batteries and placing them together, i used duck tape for easy and quick assembling.

when you finish that proceed to solder two cables to the batteries, the process can also be done without soldering, i used some solder in order to increase its durability and strength. When you have your two cables connected to the battery, one on the positive side and the other on the negative, attach or solder one of the pins on the LED to cable.

When that is done you will figure out that the LED will glow when you connect the other pin, here you can add a pushbutton for a more profesional look or you could simply touch the two wires together to make the LED glow.

Final Step

On this final step you already have the LED connected to the batteries and working, and as i said this is very simple and easy so just grab your acrylic tube and place the led on one side of it, and simply use duck tape to paste them together.

The use of duck tape makes it very easy to assemble, just cover the led completely on duck tape and your done!!

Thank you for watching this instructable, as i said it is very easy you can add a handlebar and make it more profesional if you want.
