Light Up Check List

A light up check list was recommended by our occupational therapist for our neurodivergent kids.

Having the lights to turn off offers an incentive to comeplete routines/tasks.

Prepare Lights/Board

Prepare Lights for mounting on the dry erase boards.

(Optional) If making colored lights, cut cellophane to fit inside the light lids. I used 2-3 layers per light.

Measure where each light will go on the board. I was using 5 lights so I spaced them equally on the left side of the board.

Mark Off Separate Task Lines

Mark lines across the board to divide the sections.

I used my cricut to cut strips to lay across the boards.

Mount Lights

Mount lights on the left hand side of the board in a column.

Add Instructions

Add instructions next to each light.

I used my cricut to make the sentences. Before those were complete I just used the dry erase markers to write on them.

Add Mounting Supplies

Put magnets on the back of the board if desired. Alternative is 3M Velcro strips.

Use for Routines

Our OT recommended starting with the lights on and our kids have to turn off the lights off as they complete their tasks.
