What is light paint photography? Light paint photography is drawing with light by using a light source (a flashlight) and a camera with a low ISO and slow shutter speed. Light painting has been around for many years, dating all the way back to 1889. Too achieve this form of photography you will need a camera, a light source (flashlight), a tripod (or flat surface), and a dark space. Light Painting can be done alone, but may be easier to do to with two people.

It is very important that you use a tripod or a flat surface. To achieve best results you are going to need to level your camera on a flat surface. If you don't have a tripod any flat surface like a desk will work. Make sure that your camera is sturdy and won't get bumped. To make things easier, you may want to have someone press the shutter-release button for you.
