Lift-O 10k+ - Hydraulic Crane

Hydraulic crane by: Martin, Niklas, Andreas and Kristian.

How to make a hydraulic crane with a 600x 600x 6mm mdf sheet. two surringes, a screw and a plastic tube.

This crane was designed with solidworks, lazer-cut and assembled for a school-project on the 20th of April, 2016.

The crane won the weight lifting competition, and is capable of lifting more than 10 kg.

Parts Needed

Parts needed:
2x 20ml. surringe

1x 600x600 6mm MDF-sheets

1x 5mm plastic tube (~20cm)

3x 57mm, ø5 bolt

3x ø5 nuts

Glue

water for the hydraulic system

Lasercut From Ai File

First of all, you need to download the AI (adobe illustrator) file.
• Upload the Ai file to a lasercutter

• Use a 600 x 600 x 6 mm. piece of MDF-sheet

• Cut the parts

Assemble the Crane

assemble the wooden parts, glue where necessary.

Next assemble the hydraulic system. We used proxy glue and strips to seal the surringes with the tube.

Add water to the surringes and the plastic tube

Assemble the surringes to the crane, and glue the wooden parts around the surringe to lock it in.

Next put the bolts through the 3 holes and lock them in with the nuts.

The crane is able to lift more than 10 kg. We were not able to add more weight to the bucket, so we dont know the maximum weight it is capable to lift.
