Lever- Catapult

My simple machine is a lever, I am making a Catapult. Catapults are used to forcefully launch things, mostly in the military.

Supplies

  • 8 rectangular popsicle sticks, size does not matter
  • 2 thick, medium sized rubber bands
  • 3 small rubber bands
  • 1 water bottle cap
  • Super glue, or any type of glue that will hold good

  • Stack 6 of the 8 Popsicle sticks, one on top of the other in a horizontal position.

  • Tie one of the thick rubber bands on both the right and left side of your Popsicle stick stack

  • Place 1 of your 2 remaining Popsicle sticks in the center underneath the stack
  • The your last Popsicle stick in the center on top of the stack

  • Place one little rubber band criss cross over both the top and bottom center Popsicle sticks. With the stack in the middle (which should be how it already is)

  • Place another little rubber band criss cross the other way in the same spot as the last one, make an x in the middle in the center.

  • Place your last little rubber band at the end of the two top and bottom Popsicle sticks, so right under the other rubber bands forming an x.

  • Super glue, or glue the water bottle cap to the tip of the one top Popsicle stick
