Hello there, hope your doing well.

In today's lesson I will be aiming to teach you how to making a 3D paper-craft animal.

The blank templet is for you to make your own animal design, be it a Dog, Fox, Bear, Cat or any animal. Let your creativity flow.

If you feel following this lesson as close as possible would be easier then don't worry, you can use the Wolf template I made for the lesson.

Firstly don't worry if you never done anything like this before. It might be scary if your not used to creating stuff with paper or using glue for small bits of paper.

By the end of this lesson you won't be worried anymore and we feel proud of what you have created. Like in the photo above.

Supplies

For this lesson you need

  • Paper or card: you need this to put in the printer for the template. Card would make the paper craft a bit stronger. But don't worry if you don't have any or have shop near by that sell it. Simple plain paper works well to.
  • printer: For the template you can download. Any printer well do.
  • scissors: To cut out the template parts to put together.

  • glue stick: to hold everything together. A normal store bough PVA glue stick will do the job. Or even squeezey PVA glue well work to

1. Print Off the Animal Template

Print off the blank animal template so you can colour and design any animal you want.

Don't worry if you find colouring not that good, You can use one of the ready made templates like the Wolf one I will be using if you would feel better.

2. Cut Out All of the Pieces

Cut out all of the pieces. Just follow the border of the colour and you will do great.

You might have noticed some lines on the head and body. This are to position the tail and ears. You need to cut down those lines to insert them later on.

Just be slow and steady with the blade of the scissor. Or if you feel better then use a pen to push some holds around the lines to make a hole.

A helpful tip for the next part, cut the ears and tail out but keep them as one piece.

3. Cut and Glue the Ears and Tail Pieces Together.

Now that you have cut the ears and tails out, fold the piece back on each other so you can glue them.

Don't worry if it not even or if there some white paper still showing, you can cut it off.

4. Fold and Glue the Feet

Using the Squares, bend the feet, like your forming a box, once you are happy with it glue the tabs to hold it together.

5. Fold and Glue the Body

6. Fold and Glue the Head

7. Glue the Head and Body Together.

When putting the glue on the bottom of the head and feet to join with the body be carefully not to push too hard. If you have an double sided tape or wet glue then use this instead.

Don't worry if it doesn't sit right. you can even use normal tape to hold it in place.

8. Insert the Ears and Tail to the Body.

Using the holes you made before you glue the body up insert the ears and tail. Use the scissor blade or scalpel to make the holes bigger if needed.
