Lentil Treat

A simple, inexpensive, protein-packed treat for your flock. I make it for my Coturnix quail, but it's great for chickens, too!

Soak!

Put about a cup of dried lentils in a quart sized Mason jar. Fill the jar with water and let soak for an hour or two, then drain.

Wait!

Let the jar sit on your counter for a few days. Two or three times a day, fill the jar with water, swirl the lentils around, and drain. When the jar is full of sprouted lentils, they're ready for your birds!

Treat!
