Lego Penguin Tape Dispenser

Pictured in the background of my first Instructable's cover photo: https://www.instructables.com/id/Lego-IPhone-Stan... , is a little Lego tape-dispensing penguin. This Instructable will show you how to make this cute and practical tool.

The Parts

To build the model, you'll need:

-Two black 4x6 plates

-Two black 2x6 plates

-Two black 2x4 plates

-One black 2x2 plate

-One black 1x2 plate

-Two black, left sloped 1x4 plates

-Two black 2x3 bricks

-Three black 2x2 bricks

-Two orange 2x4 bricks

-One orange 1x2 brick

-One black 1x1 brick with hole

-One half-peg

-Two round 1x1 tiles with printed eyes

-One black 1x2x4 windshield element or four stacked 1x2 bricks

-A roll of Scotch Tape

The Head

A) Pull aside the pieces shown in the first picture.

B) Take out a black 2x3 brick.

C) Attach the black 2x2 brick and the orange 1x2 brick as shown in the third photo.

D) Place the black 1x1 brick with hole as shown in the fourth photo.

E) Connect the second black 2x3 brick on top.

F) Plug the half-pin into the brick with hole.

The Face

A) Take the black 1x2 plate and the two round 1x1 tiles with printed eyes.

B) Build as shown in the second photo.

C) Take the head and stand so that the blue half-pin is facing up.

D) Attach the face so that its center plugs into the half-pin.

Side 1

A) Take out the parts as shown in the first photo.

B) Connect the orange 2x4 brick to the black 4x6 plate.

C) Place the black 2x4 and 2x6 plates as shown in the third photo.

D) Attach the black 1x4 slope plate as shown in the fourth photo.

Side Two

A) Find the parts shown.

B) Place an orange 2x4 brick so it hangs off the black 4x6 plate.

C) Connect the black 2x4 and 2x6 plates as shown in the third picture.

D) Attach the black sloped 1x4 brick as shown in the fourth picture.

Core

A) Find the two black 2x2 bricks and the black 2x2 plate.

B+C) Stack the three parts, so that the plate is between the bricks.

D) Find Side Two and flip it over.

E) Connect the Core as shown in the fifth photo.

Tape Module

A) You'll be left with the parts shown in the first photo.

B) Stick the tape to the black 1x2x4 windshield element. (If you don't have this piece, use a stack of four black 1x2 bricks).

Final Assembly

A) You should have all four sections shown in the first photo.

B) Start with Side Two with the Core attached.

C) Connect the head as shown in the second photo.

D) Place the Tape Module as shown in the fourth photo.

E) Attach Side One as shown in the fifth photo.

F) Your Lego Penguin Tape Dispenser is complete!!
