Lego Nightlight

Light up your night with this cool creation. Build a Lego nightlight using a simple circuit and materials most people have. All you need is...

• Legos
• Cardboard
• LED
• Battery pack without switch
• Flashlight (with button on bottom)
• Wires
• Electrical tape
• Hot glue
• Scissors
• X-acto knife
• Scissors
• Hot glue gun

Measure out a piece of cardboard to the dimensions shown in the first picture. Cut it out with a knife and fold as shown. Hot glue it all together and put a small hole in the top of it.

Unscrew the bottom of the flashlight and attach the LED to the battery pack as shown. Attach one wire to the spring on the flashlight end. Attach the other wire to the side of it where it would screw in. Wrap electrical tape around it to hold it in place. When you press the button, the LED should light up.

Cut out another piece of cardboard with the dimensions 3 1/4" by 3 /4". make a hole in the middle large enough for the button to fit through, but not the whole piece. Then, put the LED through the small whole in the first cardboard thing, and tape it in place. hot glue the battery pack onto the inside wall. It should look like picture 3. Hot glue the flashlight button onto the piece of cardboard you just cut out as shown in picture 4. Tape it in place. glue the cardboard with the button on it onto the rest of the cube. It should look like picture 6, and the bottom like picture 7.

Gather many translucent Lego pieces and start building up with solid pieces, placing the translucent pieces evenly throughout. I made the top 6 by 6 studs, but you can do any dimensions you want, making sure it will still fit on top of the base. You can also do any height you want, but I made mine a medium height. Hot glue the top onto the base, press the button, and you're finished!
