Lebanese Custard (Mouhalabieh)

In this Instructable, I will show you how to make a mouth-watering Lebanese custard mouhalabieh) whose flavors will transport you to a tale of the One Thousand and One Nights.

Supplies


Equipment
- Mixing bowl
- Whisk
- Dessert ring molds
- Small pot
- Medium pot
Ingredients
For 4 people.
- 2 cups milk
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 8 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp orange blossom water
- 2 tbsp rose blossom water
- 3 tbsp grenadine syrup
- Handful crushed pistachios
Mix

Whisk together the cornstarch and the milk in a mising bowl. Add the sugar and whisk until you get a homogenous mixture.
Cook

Pour the mixture into a medium pot for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly until the mixture becomes thick.
Add Flavor and Pour Into Molds


Remove the pot from the heat and add the orange blossom water.
Pour the mixture into the dessert ring molds and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
Prepare the Syrup

Prepare the syrup by heating 2 tbsp of water in a small pot with 3 tbsp of grenadine syup and rose blossom water.
Whisk until you get a homogenous mixture. Let cool.
Decorate

When serving, remove the custards from the molds, coat them with the syrup, and decoate with pistachios.
