Leather Travel Tag
This a a fantastic project to make and can save your suitcase from getting lost!
Supplies
- tooling leather
- Brown leather dye
- Leather sewing string
- Leather needle
- Leather stamps
- Leather hole punch
- Sponge
- Bowl of water
- Paint brush
- pick what you want your tag to look like.
- If you need help getting the right shapes, go to Google and look up leather travel tag layout.
- Cut out your shapes.
- Stamp your shapes.
How to stamp leather:
- Get a bowel of water.
- Get a sponge.
- Dab the sponge over the leather until it has soaked in .
- Use the stamp you want and tape it with a hammer lightly about 3-5 times.
- Let dry.
- dye your leather.
How to dye leather:
- Brush off leather, making sure it is clean.
- Use a paint brush to dip into the dye. Make sure you don’t get too much.
- Go over you leather, making sure you don’t change directions while brushing
- Let dry.
Finishing:
With your stamped and dyed leather do the following.
- Thread the needle.
- Start at the bottom and sew your way to the top of one of the sides.
- Go back down. Doing this will make it so there is no space between thread.
- Do the same on the other side.
Make sure to clean your brush!
