Leather Travel Tag

This a a fantastic project to make and can save your suitcase from getting lost!

Supplies

  • tooling leather
  • Brown leather dye
  • Leather sewing string
  • Leather needle
  • Leather stamps
  • Leather hole punch
  • Sponge
  • Bowl of water
  • Paint brush

  1. pick what you want your tag to look like.
  2. If you need help getting the right shapes, go to Google and look up leather travel tag layout.
  3. Cut out your shapes.

  • Stamp your shapes.
How to stamp leather:
  1. Get a bowel of water.
  2. Get a sponge.
  3. Dab the sponge over the leather until it has soaked in .
  4. Use the stamp you want and tape it with a hammer lightly about 3-5 times.
  5. Let dry.

  1. dye your leather.

How to dye leather:

  1. Brush off leather, making sure it is clean.
  2. Use a paint brush to dip into the dye. Make sure you don’t get too much.
  3. Go over you leather, making sure you don’t change directions while brushing
  4. Let dry.

Finishing:

With your stamped and dyed leather do the following.

  1. Thread the needle.
  2. Start at the bottom and sew your way to the top of one of the sides.
  3. Go back down. Doing this will make it so there is no space between thread.
  4. Do the same on the other side.

Make sure to clean your brush!
