Leather Key Cover

In this Tutorial I'll show you how to make a simple but cool leather key cover.

The tools I was using:

• Sharp Knife (you can use xacto knife)
• Metall ruller
• Leather hole punch
• Awl
• Leather stitching needle
• Polyester or Nylon Thread

Here I'm showing how easy to make this awesome key cover.

For this project I decided to use a vegetable oil tanned leather. It's 2mm thick and very firm. But it's not necessary to use a leather that thick.

Then cut a rectangular piece by using the template. My key is 25mm wide, so if you have a different size of key, you need to create your own template.

Use an awl to punch holes for sewing. Then use a hole punch to make two holes for the key ring.

I was using special leather stitching needles to sew the leather. But it's not necessary. You can use regular needle to do that.

For this key I was using a saddle stitch method.

After sewing everything together you can cut the corners of the key cover.
