Leather Gift Tags

Add a bit of sparkle to your gifts with these simple, yet beautiful leather gift tags. Perfect for any occasion, these tags are not limited to just Christmas time!

What You'll Need:

• Leather (13101-)
• Steel Square (65-3038)
• Art Knife (65-2866)
• Scratch Awl (CSO4-2)
• Mallet (65-2510)
• Leather Dye (50-2047)
• Stamping Set 1/8" (67-7209)
• Stamping Set 1/4" (67-7207)
• Leather Paint (50-1948)
• Angelus® Glitterlites Paint (50-1937)
• Paint Brush Set (50-1944)

Measure and cut your leather into roughly 2" wide x 3" long rectangles.

Clip two corners on each rectangle to give it a "tag" look.

If using natural leather, use a sponge and wet the leather.

Stamp your leather with the words or patterns of your choice.

If you will be dyeing your leather, dye and let dry completely before doing this step.

Tape off the area you will be painting using frog tape or painters tape.

Apply several coats of Angelus® Acrylic paint in the color of your choice. This will give a nice base coat and allow the glitter to really stand out.

Once the paint is dry, apply several coats of Angelus® Glitterlites. 2-3 coats gives it a nice sparkle.

Use an art knife or utility knife and make a small slit at the top of the tag.

Take a piece of string or thread, double it and slide it through the opening, bring the ends of the string through the other looped end and pull tight.

You are all done!
