Want to make an impressive dessert for your valentine, but don't have the time? This Lazy Valentine's Brownie is just the thing for you! It uses a brownie box mix jazzed up with maraschino cherries, cut into a heart, then topped up with heart shaped whipped cream. Easy!

For the brownie you will need:
  • 1 brownie box mix
  • 1/4 cup of chopped maraschino cherries
  • maraschino cherry juice to replace the water suggested by the box (my box said 1/4 cup)
  • vegetable oil as suggested by the box (my box said 1/4 cup)
  • eggs as suggested by the box (my box said 1)

Cut Out Hearts

Remove the baked brownie from the pan after it cools. Using a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut out hearts from the cooled brownie.

There's a great Instructable that shows how to make Heart Shaped Cookie Cutter From Tin Can.

Cool Whip Heart

Prepare Cool Whip hearts to top off your brownie as in my Instructable for Cool Whip Snowflakes (line a pan with wax paper, cover evenly with Cool Whip, freeze for a few hours, cut out hearts). You can omit the water for this, but you must work quickly and it might help to freeze the Cool Whip at least overnight before cutting out the hearts.

Place the Cool Whip hearts directly on your brownie after cutting it out with the cookie cutter. Sprinkle some chocolate shavings on top and enjoy!
