Laundry: the Never Ending Story
Do you want to learn how to do something that will help you throughout your lifetime to stay organized and help you gain responsibility? Well, we are going to talk through how to do laundry in 11 straightforward steps.
Supplies
Why Laundry? Laundry is an important life skill because its essential to living independently. Supplies for doing laundry will require dirty laundry, a washing machine, your choice of detergent, a dryer, and a dryer sheet.
Read the Labels on Your Clothes
Read the labels on your clothes to figure out if your item can be machine washed. If your label says wash separately or hand wash, place it in a different pile. It will need to be washed separately. If it says dry clean only, you will need to take it to the dry cleaner.
Sort the Laundry
Sort your laundry into whites, darks, and pastels.
Select Your Choice of Detergent
Choose your detergent and open the detergent tray. Pour it in to fill the line.
Throw Your Load In
Throw your choice of load into the washing machine and press start.
Choose Your Setting/cycle
Choose the best washer setting depending on your load. Typically, it will be normal for most loads.
Close the Washing Machine Door
Close the washing machine door, so you can begin your wash cycle!!
Move Clothes to Dryer
Once your load is complete, transfer your clothes to the dryer.
Clean the Lint Tray
Clean the lint tray so your dryer can work more efficiently and so you don't start a fire!!
Toss a Dryer Sheet in the Dryer
Toss a dryer sheet in your dryer. This will help your laundry feel softer and will help your laundry smell really good!!
Start Your Dryer
Choose the correct dryer cycle, typically normal and hit start. Then, wait for your load to be dried!!
Fold and Store Your Clothes
Once your clothes are dry, fold and store them. Folding them will help prevent them wrinkling.

Sort your clothes and make sure they are able to be machine washed.
Select your detergent and begin your washing cycle.
Put your clothes in the dryer and start the dryer, but make sure you clean the lint tray before!!
Take your clothes out and fold them.
