Laser Etched Alder Wood
A buddy of mine left a piece of alder wood at my house a while back. He is a good woodworker with a small shop in his garage.
I used the laser cutter at TechShop.
In CorelDraw I opened a standard template with the right dimensions and color profile(RGB).
The process is really easy with something as simple as this.
I selected some text that would have a good amount of detail to show off the capabilities.
The text needs to be black for a raster etch.
I validated that the size was right and the placement of the material was good in the machine.
I used the hardwood material preference and entered the material thickness.
I clicked print and went over to the Cutters Control Panel and check the placement and size one more time.
Everything looked go so I hit print.
Check out the Video.
