Laser cutter

BY PHINEAS ABBOTT AND JASON WEN

Using the laser Cutter is quite simple but we expected it to be difficult. The only really difficult thing that happened was using the computer to draw. On the computer, all you have to do is log on to an app called Figma, then you can draw a design by connecting dots, or you can use shapes to make a design. Then you send the document to an app called laser DRW. On laser DRW, it feeds the laser cutter all the data about the design to the laser cutter. It seems a lot harder than it really is. Once I got a design for the laser cutter, the only thing that was needed to do was to adjust the speed of the laser and adjust the size of the image. Once I got the hang of using the laser cutter, we actually enjoyed doing it. It was cool because anything we could draw the laser cutter would turn a piece of wood into my drawing.
