Laser Cut Guitar Stand

Simple laser cut project. All you need are 3 things.

Wood (We used 1/2" Birch, but many will do)
Wood Glue
Laser Cutter

Laser cut the pieces. Here we're using a 150W Full Spectrum machine to cut 1/2" Birch. If you have a less powerful machine, you can cut thinner materials and glue the pieces together to build up the thickness.

To cut the "Full" file which includes all the pieces, you will need an cutable area of at least 21"x24". To cut the pieces individually, the minimum cutting area needed is 15"x19".

Measure and mark both leg pieces where you want to place the center brace. For the acoustic guitar we're using, we found that 3" from the top will be ideal. Spacing may be different per instrument.

Add glue to the side of the brace, and align it to the marks you made on the leg pieces. Since we only made one mark at the top of the leg, we're aligning the top of the brace to the mark. Run the piece straight down from the point, and let it dry.

The brace should now be affixed to the first leg. Add glue to the available side, and align the brace to the mark on the second leg just as you did the first. Add a support to hold the extra weight as the glue dries. (We're using a white water bottle)

You can add rubber or felt to the contact points to protect your guitar. (The rubber will provide better grip in keeping the guitar upright) You can also screw the brace in for additional support.
