LUMA ORB Space Ring-Lamp - Mesmerizing Lamp With Rotatable Light Rings - Powered by WLED
Hello everyone,
I am delighted to present the new LUMA ORB lamp. 🥳 It consists of three rings that form an orbit. The two inner rings can be rotated. A very special eye-catcher that will amaze your guests 😍
The total height is approx. 40 cm / 15.7 inches.
An ESP32 controller with WLED software controls the lighting effects. This controls over 300 LED pixels on a very high-resolution LED strip with 144 LEDs per meter.
For those of you who are familiar with “WLED,” it is also possible to equip the lamp with a sound-reactive module, switches, or a remote control. Here, I describe the basic installation for control via a WiFi smartphone app.
🎨 Filament selection: The ring housing should be printed from a slightly darker filament so that no light can shine through. (If using a light-colored filament such as white or light gray, it is advisable to paint the inside of the ring housing with an opaque black acrylic paint so that no light can shine through).
For the light diffuser, I recommend using only PLA Basic jade white. This has very good light transmission, makes the light nice and soft, and is slightly elastic.

Assembly Rings
💡Basic wiring instructions for WLED: https://kno.wled.ge/basics/wiring-guides/
The electrical installation takes place in the “lower” housing parts of the ring. This can be recognized by the cable bushings near the axes of rotation.
These parts have small connectors that you can secure with a little model glue. (Superglue can cause stains when it evaporates.)
Make sure the joint edge is clean and closed. Parts that belong together are marked with small letters. A to A, B to B, etc.
Mount LED Strips and Welding
Next, glue in the LED strip. Completely remove the protective film from the adhesive side. Glue the strip flush against the lower small protrusion. Press the adhesive strip down carefully.
🤖 Recommended LED strip length:
1st ring: 2x 39 LEDs = 78 LEDs
2nd ring: 2x 54 LEDs = 108 LEDs
3rd ring: 2x 71 LEDs = 142 LEDs
There are cable bushings near the axes of rotation for the cables, as well as an extra channel for the cables in the ring. I applied the voltage from two sides to avoid a voltage drop on the LED strips.
I have already placed the rings inside each other for installation. Working on a table with sufficient space makes assembly easier.
👉 The cables must already be fed through all five rotating axes at this stage!
Once all three rings have been fitted with LEDs and wired up, be sure to carry out a function test! Making adjustments to the cables later on is a bit tricky.
Insert Diffusers
Then insert the diffusers. The inner diffuser consists of one piece and can be inserted by bending it slightly at the thin spot. The four-piece diffusers for rings 2 and 3 are easy to insert.
Before you put on the upper halves of the ring housing, make sure that the LED strips protrude minimally inward at the unglued area, so you have more space to mount the upper halves of the ring and press them down firmly with a little force. You can also use some model glue on the groove here.
Mount Base
In the final step, place the lamp on the base and screw it in place with the nut provided. You can hide the technology and cables in the base. This is also where the DC socket for the power connection is located.
CAUTION! The rings of the lamp should only be turned carefully into an aesthetic position. Due to the cables, they are not designed to make full turns. Please handle with care.
