LED Strip Light Paper Lamp

The full dimensions of the lamp are 6x6x10. I used my 3D printer (CR-10 Mini), and some LED Strips and electronics I found around the house. It is a great desk lamp.

I cut up an LED strip into four parts to print. Supports are needed for "LampBottom" and "LampTop." I recommend you print the top part upside down and the bottom part right side up. "LampBottomLid" does not need supports. The supports for the top part no matter what will be a pain in the butt to take out, due to the slits for paper being so thin. I recommend using and exacto knife as well as wire cutters to take out the supports. I also sanded the outside parts that had supports on them to make them smooth.

I connected the LED strips to connectors and soldered them all to one wire. I used some heat shrink tube around open ends. I connected a battery pack and a receiver to a remote.

The dimensions of the paper to put in the slits is 5 1/8 x 7 1/8 and the top is 5 1/8 x 5 1/8. I used velum paper to put in the small slits in the top of the lamp. On the top, because the paper was hard to keep in there, I used glue stick on 2 pieces of the paper to give it strength.

I drew on the velum paper with some black sharpie and placed the drawings on each side of the lamp.
