Welcome my DIY friends :)

I designed a LED RGBW Circle with a nice printable clear and minimalistic design. You can control it with an App for Android or iOS via Bluetooth There are hundreds of different mods. You can use it also as a VU-Meter. So its Music controlled via an internal microphone or via AUX for a better visualization.I used a SK6812 strip 144 LEDs per meter with RGB-WW. So u can use it also as a decoration lamp with real warm light. You can also do it with an ESP32 and WLED.

Printing Parts

First, you need to print the parts.

You need to print:

1x top ring part

1x left ring part

1x right ring part

1x stand/base

1x cap

3x diffuser

I added different options. I recommend doing it with the included supports. With that, you have a nicer looking print. But you have also more work to remove the support. If you slice it, you have to activate the function "recognize thin walls".

You can also choose the duo color option. With that, you can print the bottom and top of the ring also with a transparent filament, so the light goes more to the sides ;) I like duo color more!

If you have a big printer with a bed of 35x35 you can print also the full ring as once.

You have to print the diffusers also with a transparent filament.

IMPORTANT: Most printers need a ARC-WELDER plugin for better curves. This is not necessary but I totally recommend this!

If you have Octoprint, you can use this one:

Glue the Parts Together

You can Glue the parts with a 2k epoxy glue. I recommend a fully transparent fast glue.

Before gluing, you should clean and roughing the connection points.

Install the LED Strip and the Diffusors

Then you can install the LED strip. It's important, that it has only one connection point in the middle. If it's more, it's longer and it will not fit in. But if you are good at soldering, you can shorten the solder points. I recommend pressing the strip first in without glue strip to test the length. At the end of the strip, you can cut it right after the last LED. I should fit a 1m LED strip with 144 LEDs per meter.

Now you can just press the 3 diffusers in. No glue is needed.

Electronic Part

The APP music controller is in a white box. Just remove the white box carefully, so you have only the board. You need to solder 3 connection wires to it for the external aux jack. Just take a look at the picture. Then you need to connect ground and 5v and the data port for the strip.

Take a look to the connection plan.

On the aux jack, if its one with 4 pins, you need to solder PIN1 and PIN4 together. That's Ground (black). PIN2 is left (green) and PIN3 is right (red).

Just use a hot glue gun to mount the electronics in the base.

Set the APP

Download the app in the Google Play Store or Apple Appstore. The Name of the App is: LED Chord

The best settings for this project are on the picture.
