LED Name Plate
Well this was supposed to be a piece of wood milled out by a CNC but after several clamp and other issues I decided to write on plexi-glass with sharpie. This can be greatly modified to make more intricate but due to my lack of experience and first time upload to instructables I'm in a learning experience. Overall I'm happy with the way it went but if you have any ideas or any way to make this project better post your pictures and instructables. I'm open for constructive criticism:)Thanks
Materials
Two pieces of 1in.x6in. veneer wood(or three if you choose to CNC one); One sheet of 1in.x6in. plexi-glass; Foil; One 9v battery and hook-up; one switch(I used one with a 1.7v LED); Two 3.2v LED's; extra wire; solder and iron; Tape; Wood Glue; Paint; Sharpies; Drill with 1/2 inch bit
Drill Hole and Tape Foil
Now drill a .5 inch hole for the switch on either end. Then tape foil to the surface of the wood with hole and to one with out the hole.
Solder the Circuit
Now solder the circuit.(Switch Layout is on bag) First solder the "2-pin" to the "+" This will turn on the light in the switch without it running constantly. Then solder the red wire out of the battery connector to the "1-pin". Now solder the LED's however far apart starting with the negative side, then connect the loose with to the last "-" pin.
Glue and Paint
Next I glued the front and back to each other and painted them black.
Finish
Now I glued the plexi-glass (Or the CNC piece) to the other pieces. Let sit for one night and bam! Now you can light your desk up in style! Thanks for reading! Enjoy!
