LED Matrix Box Purse
Untill quite recently, I spent most of my time inside my house. Getting food and packages delivered. As microcontrollers became harder to aquire I started to search through past projects and boxes of older unused boards. I liberated most of these supplies from my storge. Once I laid all of the electronics out, I knew that my next distraction was before me. A quick dig through my costume box, unearth a box purse that I was... "going to do something with" Voila!! the Cigar box purse with an led matrix controlled via bluetooth was born.

Plot and Plan
My inspiration for this project came from a Becky Stern Project. The step by step information (including steps for uploading to the Flora) are detailed and linked to her Git Hub. Take my advice, make sure you have those snowflakes working before you get fancy!!
Attached are a few notes on creating your own images for the grid. I reference the commands and the pixels that will be affected. It should at least be a good for comparrasion if youve never drawn pixels on a matrix. Seriously though I reccommend that you also have a look at the Uberguide.

For reference I have included pictures of the purse before I took a saw to it. Definitely, not my taste. After I drilled a starter hole I used a handsaw cut out the square for the matrix. The parking garage was my best bet to spray the primer on the base. After that, I searched for an image to inspire me. (Yes, this inspired me... I like it) The blachk grid was a bit jarring, so I added some ribbon to cover the black grid. ( pink and purple)
Now for Some Fun
After the paint dried, it was time to insert the matrix and the battery. The Adafruit Bluefruit Connect app downloaded from the app store allowed the real fun to begin. With the app I can change the icon as well as the color and color intensity. ( the googles are the result of xtra micro servos... that is another story)
Where to Go First?
The perfect event hasnt surfaced yet. But it is lovely out and my social calendar is starting to fill up again. Until then I will jusy play with all of my toys. This project was just the thing to keep me from bing watching tv. I also learned a few new skills.
