LED Glowing Gaming Desk Top
I made this gaming desk top for my baby cousin. His mom died of COVID and he had to move in with his aunt and since he lost everything after moving, I decided to give him a room where everything glowed. Sorry I don't picture of the room with everything in it but I have a few shots of the wall.
Supplies
TOOLS:
- Cicrular Saw (or get pieces cut at Lowes or Home Depot)
- Sand ;Paper (100 - 250 grit)
- Screw driver
- Paint brust
SUPPLIES:

- cut 4x8 plywood to the desired desktop size
- make the 3 cuts for the marbles and lights for a total of 4 pieces
- lay the boards on a flat surface.
- place marbles between each piece of wood.
- tape the bottom of the wood together with the epoxy tape
- flip the board over and fill with marbles. (make sure you place the marbles by hand so you don't have extra spacing between the marbles because they will stick to the tape) your wood should be higher than your marbles.
- pour epoxy over the marbles. fill to the very top of the wood.
I suggest you tape up the edges or this is what it will look like. the prep work will save you time in sanding.
sand the top smooth. don't worry about scuffing up the epoxy. you will fix it when you do the flood pour.
gather your supplies. I used sticker because it was quicker.
- run a strip of tape across the marbles so you don't get paint on them.
- use the primer over the entire surface.
- use your desired colors to pant the wood
- use the place electrical tape to out line the path of the marbles.
- use alcohol to clean any paint that you got on the marbles/resin
- pour a flood coat of epoxy over the entire table, use a heat gun to pop any bubbles.
- wait 4 days for the epoxy to harden enough before flipping the table top.
Add table legs
attach the light under the bottom of the table and along the edges of the wood and along the marble lines with the clamps.
We created a removable hutch that had some USB/C charging ports, an astronaut and drawers.
