In today’s tutorial I’m showing you how to make these super cute hair ties. My daughter loves them!

First create your pattern. It can be any size you want, my patterns are: 6 1/2″ x 2″ for the small one and 8 1/2″ x 2 3/4″ for the large one. I would recommend the small size or somewhere in between the small and the large one (you need to experiment to see what size you like best). Just set your dimensions and trace the shape, then choose your fabric (patterned fabric looks better or you can mix a plain fabric with a patterned one).

Use your pattern to cut out your fabric.

Take the two sides of the bow and put them on top of each other with the right side on the inside. Next you’ll need to sew the two sides together leaving a small gap that will allow you to turn it inside-out.

Then snip the rounded sides of the bow before turning.

Use your iron to press down the seams.

All that’s left to do is to assemble the hair tie. Wrap the bow around the elastic and tie a knot. Pull as much as you can so the knot will be tight.
