Knitted Cushion

IMG_4736.JPG

One of my favourite decor items in my living room are my cushions. It's amazing how they make the whole space feel cozy and it's easy to replace them to match the spring decor, holiday or even Halloween.

Now that winter is coming knitted cushion covers will give my living room a warm atmosphere. And by making them by myself I'll save a lot of money.

But don't worry you don't have to spend hours with your knitting needles, we'll take a shortcut.

Gather Your Materials

Measure and Cut

Begin by measuring the cushion. Add one inch and cut the fabric.

Cut the scarf the same size as the fabric, because the scarf is thinner than the fabric, we'll need two pieces of scarf to match the size of the fabric.

Hand Sewing

Sew by hand the two pieces of scarf and sew the buttons where the two parts meet.

With good sides facing, sew the two squares, all the perimeter but leave an opening (5-8 in).

Final Touches

Turn it inside out.
Insert the cushion though the opening.

Seam the opening to close it.

Good job! Now your old cushion looks awesome!
