Knit a Froggy Hat

Easy. Straightforward. Best if knit from Kekistani fibers.

The Body

knitting needles, US 11/8mm

3 strands of yarn

Using shades of green gives a nice effect

Ready, Set, Ribbit!

1. Cast on 28 stitches

2. Purl, knit, knit, purl, purl..........knit, knit, purl

3. Create 4 rows of ribbing, then knit stockinette stitch until your piece is 7-8 inches

Eyelids

Switch all yarns to lightest green

Knit 6 rows

Eyeballs

Switch all yarns to cream.

Knit 10 rows

Face

Replace cream with green yarn.

Knit 12 or 14 rows.

For Froggy lips, replace green yarn with red.

Knit 3 or 4 rows of ribbing, then cast off.

Vision

Using a dark color, sew irises on in upside-down "v" pattern, laying over knits.

Be sure to center and place everything symmetrically, if that's what you want.

Using cream, add sparkles to pupils, to take away the zombie look.

Sew Hat

Fold rectangle in half, right sides together.

Starting at bottom, stitch sides together using a ladder stitch. Round off corners to give Froggy's eyes a nice curve.
