Learn to make a simple wash cloth, video examples are shown.
Supplies
-Cotton yarn

Choose Yarn and Needles
For a dish cloth you will need 100% cotton yarn, I picked this yarn (http://www.kpcyarn.com/yarns/glencoul-chunky.html#134=46) when buying yarn it is good to know about weight and needle size. This yarn suggest using a pair of 6.5mm yarn needles, I used my 6mm.
Slipknot
In this video I show how to make a slip knot- this is the step before casting on.

Casting On
After the slipknot you will begin to cast on. For this dish cloth you will only need 4 stitches. You will insert the needle in the slip knot then you will loop the yarn around the needle.

Begin the Knitting
When you finish casting on, you will begin to form the dish cloth. You hold the naked needle in your right hand (If you are right handed), you go in the first stitch with the needle going underneath. You wrap the yarn around counter clockwise and threw again. for the second row, you begin with 2 normal knits. The third one is different because you will wrap the yarn around counter clockwise before doing a normal knit. The rest of your row will be done the same as the first two (normal knit)

Why Did We Only Start With 4 Stitches
For this dishcloth we only began with only 4, during the third stitch you are creating 2 stitches instead of one. This will add more, which means your dish cloth is beginning to form. Just remember, 1st. Knit, 2nd Knit, 3rd Cross over then knit. Knit the rest. You will be done when you reach 37 stitches or preferred size ( I only did 27)
What to Do After You Finish a Row
You hold the needles at starting position then begin all over again. 1st. Knit, 2nd Knit, 3rd Cross over then knit. Knit the rest.

When You Reach Half Way
Once you have reached 37 stitches you will start on the second half of your dish cloth. You will begin with a normal stitch, for the second one you will do a normal knit with two stitches (You take two instead of one). Before beginning the third stitch you will cross over, then take two stitches and do a knit. You will knit the rest of the row
1st. knit 2nd. knit two together 3rd. cross over, then knit two together. 4th. knit the rest of the row

Keep Going Until You Only Have 4 Stitches Left
1st. knit 2nd. knit two together 3rd. cross over, then knit two together. 4th. knit the rest of the row
Casting Off
When you have made it to the last 4 stitches you will begin the cast off process. You will knit two stitches, then go under the first one and pull it over the second one. Repeat- once you only have one stitch you will cut the yarn and pull it threw. You will hide the yarn in your creation, thread it threw the opening around the dishcloth.
