Knights Helmet
'Robin Hood', ' Ivanhoe', ' William Wallace'. What to say! Heroic times, heroic people ... Let's try to make one of the famous artificial objects of Middle Ages. So here is the cardboard Knights Helmet.
Tools and Materials
- Cardboard sheets (850x850 mm, 4 mm thickness)
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Paper knife
- Awl
- Scissors
- Needle file (emery cloth)
- Cardboard bender
- Wooden board (as a base for cutting operations)
- PC, printer and 5 A4 sheets to print base drawings
Construction and Parts
Helmet consists of 5 parts: 'Cap Top', 'Cap Side' (2 items), 'Helmet Back', 'Helmet Front' and 'Horn' (2 items).
All the drawings are in millimeters (mm).
We need to draw all the parts on cardboard sheets. To do this I recommend to print drawings in a real scale (1:1) on plain paper (A4) and then transfer them to a cardboard using awl.
Cut Parts Out of Cardboard
Cut parts using paper knife and wooden board (as a base).
Assembly
Bend parts in appropriate places (using special bender or manually) and connect them according to a scheme with a assembly sequence.
Done!
Wear the helmet get a sword and seek for a dragon ;-)
