Knick Knack Decoration

There once was a Lady who lived in a Shoe. She had so many Nick Knacks she didn't know what to do! Well here is the solution to that!

Supplies

You will need:

  • Paintbrush
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Ruler (or other straight surface)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Round surface (I just used a paper plate)
  • Cardboard (no thinner that card stock)
  • Acrylic paint (rainbow colors)
  • Final fixative spray
  • And finally Nick Knacks! (shells, buttons, jewels, beads, etc...)

Trace, Cut & Label Your Cardboard

Take your round surface and trace it onto the cardboard.

Cut out the Circle.

Using the Ruler, divide the circle into 6 sections.

Label the sections Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple.

Note: Try to make the words as light as possible so when we put the Nick Knacks on the Pencil won't show through. :)

Sort Your Nick Knacks

Sort out all your Nick Knacks.

Put them on the circle as shown in the picture.

Remember: Some of the Nick Knacks may be the right color, so make sure you put them in the right section.

Paint the Nick Knacks

Take all the Nick Knacks off of the Red Section and paint them Red.

Do this with all the other sections painting them the assigned Color.

Note: Do a thin coat of paint so they will dry faster and if you use Craft paint it may take longer to dry, but it will turn out much better.

Glue on the Nick Knacks

Once the Nick Knacks are dry, Glue the Nick Knacks to the assigned area.

It seems like a short step but this one takes the longest. :)

Spray the Finnish

Once the Glue is dry Spray the Final Fixative all over the project.

This gives it a shiny look and it makes it so the paint will not rub off as easy.

Caution: Do this step outside or in a well ventilated area!!!! And it is also very Flammable!!!!!
