Knex Sea Plane
This is a simple plane I made, but it has some unique parts. Unfortunately, some of the parts in here are not very common, but there are ways to replace them. I was kind of trying for a "de Havilland Beaver" model, but the engine cowl kind of ruined it, and it became a normal plane. Either way, I think it looks nice enough to share.
Supplies
Here's what you'll need for this operation:
Rods:
- Green: 78
- White: 34
- Blue: 3
- Yellow: 2
Connectors:
- Purple: 4
- Orange: 7
- Light Gray: 1
- Red: 14
- Green: 11
- Dark Gray: 14
- Blue: 12
Misc.:
- Silver Clip: 5
- Y-clip: 11
- Gray Spacer: 1
- Black Cap: 1
- Orange clip (second image, right): 1*
- Endless Rod (second image, left): 2**
*This isn't completely necessary to complete the model.
**These cannot be replaced with blue rods, but they can with yellow. They don't look as good, but it'll do.
Fuselage
The body of the plane is very simple. The tail isn't as simple, but it shouldn't be too difficult. The green connectors in the front need to go on the inside of the piece they connect to, on the inner part of the white rod. The green connector at the back has a clip that attaches to the white rod at the bottom of the yellow connectors. The photos aren't the best, and I'm sorry, but they should be decent enough to be able to make out the general shape.
Tail
Here, you'll be making the vertical and horizontal stabilizers. Here is where you'll need that orange clip if you have one. Otherwise, you'll be able to get by without it. Or you can use the same method used in the tail in the glider I posted. Once you make this, it is easy to add to the table.
Wings
These are pretty basic. Downright simple. Nothing special about them, and easy to add. Just make sure that the gray connectors connect to the front of the plane.
Cowl
This part can be a little tricky to assemble. And if you don't have those pieces, you can replace them with yellow rods. Don't forget to add those white rods to the front too when you're done.
Pontoons
These shouldn't be too difficult. Follow along with the instructions. Then add them to the only logical place to put them. Once you do that, the plane is done. I hope you had fun building it. Enjoy.
