Knex R2D2

Inspired by the newest Star Wars movie (The Force Awakens), I created my version of the well known R2D2. The body is strong and the legs are designed to attach and detach easily while maintaining good support. The bottom of the body allows for attachable parts. I decided on a motorized third leg but a non-motorized leg can easily be created and attached as well.
*Since my pieces are limited, color is irrelevant in this build.
*This is my first instructable so it if you find it hard to understand, simply comment your question.
Let's begin!
The Legs

Notes:
0. There are two large legs on R2D2 therefore, you recreate these 20 steps twice. *Make 2 of these* is only for one leg. (no picture for step 0)
1. Notice this one is two purple connectors.
2. This side has a blue and purple connector in the middle.
3. Make 2 of these. This is top part of the side of the foot.
4. Make 2 of these.
5. Make 2 of these
6. Middle of the foot.
7. 1 side of the leg with green rods.
8. Other side of the leg without green rods.
9. Put them together
10-11. Make this.
12. Add them together.
13. Connect with step 9.
14. Now connect step (1 with 3) and (2 with 3).
15. Place step 6 between them
16. Turn the foot upside down and connect step 4.
17. Notice the connections between the foot and the leg (from step 13).
18. Now connect step 5 on the tops of the foot.
19. Make this. Notice that there are 2 blue spacers on both sides.
20. Just connect it.
21. This is what it should look like
Now you should have both legs completed. Set them aside and begin the next step.
Head

Since the head is the apex of the robot, it was designed to be a safe place to pick the robot up. It also stores a stability attachment that you will understand later.
1. Stability attachment.
2-3. Make these and set aside.
4. Make this.
5. You can create any combination of wheels to look like the central "eye" on R2D2. This is simply what i had available.
6. Put it together
7. Now connect it to step 3.
8-9. Add step 3. Make sure the parts with the red rods are spaced evenly around.
10. Add the two green connectors and a blue rod on the side with the eye
11. Now the first ring of bendy rods. Put a blue rod between the green connectors in the back
12. Insert the second ring. These will slightly overlap each other.
13. Another look.
Now that the head is complete, let's give the robot a body.
The Body Part 1

This part is the probably the longest part of it because of the detail.
1. Make 2 of these. Notice the note on the picture (change them to a full circle connector)
2. Make 4 of these.
3. Connect them together. This is one of them. (I forgot to take a picture of both)
4. Make these. 4 with 2 red rods, 4 with 3 yellow rods, and 4 with 2 yellow rods. Notice the gray/grey spacers on the "triple yellow rodded" ones. There are 10 neccessary grey/gray spacers on each side of two of the red rods.
5. Insert the red ones to connect the two step 3s. Make sure you place the rods on the right side of the green connector.
6. Now insert the "triple yellow rodded" ones.
7. Finally, place the double yellow rodded parts next to the "triple"
8. Another look to make sure the spacers are in the correct place.
The Body Part 2

1-3. make these. Set them aside ready to use.
4. Put that one in. This is the bottom and will be used to attach and detach the 3rd leg.
5. Use picture 2 for the next one.
6. Another look at how they should connect.
7. Notice this one has the 2 grey/gray (one way) connectors
8. Insert the other two normal parts from picture 3.
9. And now add the final part. Note the note on the picture
10. Connect the head. Notice the stability piece ontop of the head.
So we have the legs, the body, and the head. But we still want it to move right? Well the motorized leg should help with that!
Third Leg/Foot

1. Make this. This connects to the bottom of the body and easily detaches for normal stance.
2. Make this.
3. Connect them together.
4. Make this.
5. Connect it and add the 4 red corner pieces to stabilize.
6. 4 more red corners should help
7. Make this
8. Gather these
9. Add 'em on
10. Sorry for blurriness
11. connect it all
12. Make this
13. In this order, put them on the yellow rod
14. Make sure the brown pieces are facing the right way.
15. Tada!
16. Again, make sure the brown piees are facing the right way
17. Squeeze together to make this.
18. Put step 17 in.
19. Put step 15 in.
20. Put step 12 in.
21. This is the way the motor should be angled.
22-26. Attach the "leg to the foot". (different angles)
Now we have everything made. Time to put it all together.
Put It All Together

1. Add the leg to the body
2. Notice how it connects
3. Add the other leg. You may have noticed that the other leg has blue and purple connectors as opposed to the instructed purple and purple connectors. This was simply a different style I tried.
4. Congratulations, you are done!
5. To connect the 3rd leg, connect it on the bottom.
6. Take the stability piece from the head
7. Connect. Rolls best on smooth surface (not carpet)
8-9. Look the same as yours?
Hope you had as much fun creating this as I did. I hope to create more builds and improve my photography skills and step-creating skills. Please tell me how I did and how I could improve.
