K'nex Mini Crossbow
Overview:
This is my 1st instructable, a simple, single-shot, pistol-sized crossbow that shoots red rods.
More detailed instructions are on photos.
Pros:
- Good range- can take up to 3 #64s
- Simple, very reliable system
- Low part count
- Easy to maintain/repair
- Comfy grip
- Decent accuracy
- No cut parts
Cons:
- Single shot
- Slightly awkward priming
- Rods tumble forward in flight
Notes:
- Pulley wheels on bow arms are almost purely decorative. They do not act like actual pulleys, but they do increase band tension.
- The frame where the front sight is can be replaced with blue rods for a lower profile.
- Stock is not as flimsy as it looks. It's still flimsy, but you can rest it on your shoulder without it breaking.
- The trigger/catch has two points of pivot to prevent lock-ups.
The Front
Here you will build the barrel and central framework.
The Grip/trigger
Here you will build the pistol grip and trigger mech.
The Bow Arms

Assembly
Combining the parts.
Banding
Adding elastic bands.
Firing
How to load and fire.
Finished!
If you have come this far and built this, I hope you enjoy your new pistol crossbow. Modify it as you desire!
Since this is my first instructable, please give me some feedback if you can. Thanks!
