Knex Automatic Light Switch System

Hey everyone,

Here are some pictures of my automatic light switch system made out of Knex.

You can watch the video to see how it works.

This little construction rests on one of my cabinets and leans against the light switch

It's a really reliable system that switches the lights in my room automatically on when I open my door, and switches the lights off when I close the door.

And it also has 4 cup holders to make it a bit more usefull.

Now, if you want to build this system, you have to keep some things in mind

Nr 1. This automatic light switch system is specifically designed for the door and light switch in my room. So if your light switch or door is different, or if your light switch stands further from the door, It won't work and you'll have to modify the design a bit, (which isn't easy). If you don't have any experience with building knex constructions, then I would recomend you to NOT build this system.

Nr 2. Make sure that you can fix this system to something, like on the wall or onto a closet or something. Because It's NOT allowed to move at all.

Nr. 3. You need rubber bands. 2 large ones and 2 small ones. (See step 1).

If you can't find the exact same rubber bands, don't worry, You will have to modify the system a bit to make it work with the door and light switch you have in your room. The pencil is there to give you an idea of how big the rubber bands are.
